Rijksmuseum Chocolate collection is based on the work of Hendrick Avercamp called Winter Landscape with Ice Skaters”.  Avercamp’s picture acquaints the viewer with a notable side of Dutch life, where frozen Winter channels become a place of the favorite winter activities of the city folk. People are skating, sledding with children, playing hockey. Children and adults, well-dressed ladies and gentlemen, citizens in modest clothes - all of them can be seen on the Dutch channel ice. It is curious that funny Avercamp’s characters tend to move from picture to picture, and now they have moved into the series of Rijksmuseum Chocolate.

Alena Morgunova “As a graphic designer and artist, I've always wanted to do a project with a work of a famous maestro. I adore the works of Dutch landscape painters since childhood. I have always loved to examine the details and the characters on pictures, and I found something new each time. This is the reason I came up with the idea of making a series of chocolate bars and molds for chocolate manufacturing. I selected my favorite characters from the pictures. Six bas-reliefs have been developed using these fragments, which served as the basis for the creation of the Rijksmuseum Chocolate collection. The package of each chocolate bar represents a work fragment with the same characters as on the chocolate bas-relief.”

The collection is complemented with a silicone chocolate mold, so that everyone could meet his favorite characters from the novel, making chocolate himself. The mold is made of food-grade silicone, so now everyone can make a series of Rijksmuseum Chocolate with his own hands, either to treat himself or to make an unusual gift.
